CONNECTING TO LOW PRESSURE DISTRIBUTION GAS IN ESPERANCE
Gas mains have been installed in the Esperance Town Centre inside Harbour Road from the Port to the old Tanker Jetty, and in parts of the suburbs of Nulsen, Sinclair and Chadwick.
To find out if natural gas is available in your street please call 9072 1422 or view the low pressure gas network coverage PDF below.
If natural gas is available in your street, you will get free supply of the gas service pipe from the street and a gas meter. However, difficulty in service pipe extension may incur an additional charge in some cases. EGDC recommends that the gas service pipe and meter be installed first before installing/upgrading pipework or installed/modify gas appliances inside your premises.
THE CONNECTION PROCESS
Once you have opened your account, EGDC will install a gas service pipe from the gas main in the street to the outside of your premises. You should also arrange for your gas appliance(s) to be installed or modified by a licensed gas fitter who can also give you expert advice. A gas meter will also be installed by us into a meter box supplied and installed by your gas fitter. This will occur when EGDC receives a notice from your licensed gas fitter, who will have installed or checked the meter box and pipe work inside your premises and installed or modified your appliance(s).
Information on Licensed Gas Fitters in Esperance and Gas Connection Process Flowchart can be viewed below.
